Venue/Date Changes and a lotta Leopard Print!
THANK YOU to all who helped raise over £900 for the ADHDAF Day Fundraiser. There’s still time to DONATE HERE before ADHD Awareness Month 2025 is out and we really appreciate all of the support!
Alongside all of the funds raised, by ‘roaring’ on social media with our Leopard Print Army for the fourth annual ADHDAF Day, so much ADHD awareness was raised - whilst also signposting people in need to our monthly free ADHD Peer Support Groups connecting ADHD adults of marginalised genders in Scotland, England and Wales.
This ridiculous reel rallying the troops alone has over 14K views; never-mind the absolute leopard print invasion from supporters the world over on the day. The Leopard Print Army well and truly assembled, and we couldn’t be more grateful!
What’s with all the leopard print?!
Hi I’m Laura, the founder of ADHDAF+ Charity, and I was diagnosed with severe combined type ADHD three years ago at 38.
The leopard is the symbol of Aberdeen, Scotland where the podcast and live shows which inspired the creation of this charity first began.
It also symbolises bravery, the reclaiming of power, and… I’m a total ‘hun’ :) …so leopard print has become the symbolic camouflage of the global ‘army’ of listeners, uniting on ADHDAF each year in ADHD awareness month to get the world to hear us roar!
All of the money raised from the ADHD awareness Ribbon Pins and the ADHDAF Day Fundraiser helps to fund our free in-person ADHD Peer Support Groups connecting and empowering ADHD adults of marginalised genders in Scotland, England and soon to be Wales.

“I gained so much from it. To understand more about how ADHD and menopause has such an impact and to understand the symptoms more, I’m in a much better place to support my wife. I would recommend partners attend a group, it opened my eyes”
…And Darren made a BIG announcement for ADHD Awareness month… we are overjoyed that they will be fundraising for ADHDAF+ and ADHDadultUK again for next year’s cycle.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Ayr ADHD Support Group Facilitator and Big ADHD Fundraiser Cyclist Beth had another brilliant session in the gorgeous 48 Newmarket Street
She invites Ayr ADHD adults to join her at 6.30 pm Tuesday 4th November (first Tuesday of every month)

The focus topic for all of November’s Groups feels fitting for the time of year….
ADHD TAX
ADHD ‘Tax’ refers to the extra costs and consequences that people with ADHD often face due to the symptoms of the condition, such as forgetfulness, impulsivity, and difficulties with organisation. These symptoms can lead us to miss deadlines, incurring late fees, or causing costs that could have been avoided with better planning.
Alongside financial stress and struggles, ADHD can cost us emotionally and impact our relationships.
Essentially, ADHD ‘Tax’ is the ‘price’ paid for the cognitive challenges that are commonly experienced by people with ADHD.
Finances and calendars can feel particularly challenging at this time. Media pressure to have the ‘perfect Christmas’ paired with our own perfectionism can lead us to impulse purchases and increased emotional dysregulation.
Card and gift giving can cause us to forget financial commitments and overspend. An overstimulating social calendar can impact routines, causing missed appointments, overwhelm and even burnout.
If you are struggling with any of the above YOU ARE NOT ALONE. You can reach out for support HERE.
If you have or think you might have ADHD, you are invited to connect with other ADHD adults of marginalised genders in your local ADHDAF+ Group to dicuss this topic…
But what does ‘marginalised genders’ mean?
Can anyone attend ADHDAF+ Support Groups?
As long as you are over 18 years old, and are respectful of the lens through which are groups are informed and led,
you are very welcome!
NO RSVP or ADHD Diagnosis needed; Self Diagnosis is VALID.
ADHDAF Day 2025 really was a ‘roaring’ success!
ADHD is NOT a trend #ADHDAFDay is and we couldn’t be more grateful to all who made it one!
THANK YOU SO MUCH
for all of your support in helping us connect and empower
ADHD adults of marginalised genders!
More ADHD Support Groups coming soon….
Laura
