Though each month’s adults only ADHD groups focus on a different topic; all follow the same format for each session and run for two hours.
All of our venues are fully accessible, and although attendees are encouraged to share their experiences if they would like to - there’s no pressure!
Similarly, there’s no pressure to be on time or stay for the duration.
All are welcome to sit comfortably, take some time out or move around during - so long as they do not disrupt the session for other attendees. -
WELCOME
Attendees are welcomed to the group and setting by the volunteer facilitator
‘MOST ADHD THING’
Led by the facilitator, attendees who wish to are invited to share a ‘most ADHD thing’ story (just like on ADHD AF Podcast) as a non cringey ice-breaker and to eradicate shame.
TOPIC INTRO
The facilitator gives a brief introduction to that month’s focus topic
GROUP DISCUSSION ON TOPIC
The facilitator leads group discussion making sure all attendees (who wish to) have the space to share their experiences.GLIMMERS
A ‘glimmer’ is a micro-joy; we end each group on a happy note encoraging attendees to share something that has brought them joy.
TAKE-AWAYS

No, ADHDAF+ charity only offers in-person free ADHD adult Peer Support Groups and hosts Live ADHD awareness raising adult events. ADHDAF+ charity does not offer online support of any kind.

Our groups are aimed at, informed by the lived experience of and are facilitated by ADHD adults of marginalised genders.
However, with half a millon on the waiting list for NHS ADHD assessment we would NEVER turn any ADHD adult of need of support and community away based on their gender.
As long as you are over 18 years of age and are understanding and respectful of the aims, lens and all people at our groups - you are welcome to attend. -
No. ADHDAF+ supports ADHD adults at any stage in their diagnosis or discovery.
If you have or suspect you might have ADHD, you are very welcome.
If you would like to attend to learn how to support a loved one with ADHD, you are very welcome.
As long as you are over 18 and are respectful that the lens through which we understand ADHD is that of ADHD adults of marginalised genders, and therefore many groups will be more gender focussed and will be facilitated by an ADHD adult of marginalised gender -
Because ADHD assesments remain either a postcode lottery or paid-for privilege few can afford.
In some parts of the UK, without the right to choose option the waiting list is almost a decade long. In others, ADHD assessment waiting lists are closed all together.

ADHDAF+ is as much about empowering our Facilitators as our Attendees; therefore, all of our groups are facilitated by ADHD women who have volunteered to start a group in their local area.
Our team then supports each Volunteer with finding the right venue and getting set up, and we offer ongoing support and sessions with all Facilitators monthly to reflect on each month’s groups.
Our aim is to have groups local to all cities across Scotland, England and Wales, and multiple groups in larger areas where applicable.
If we haven’t set up a group local to you, it’s because nobody has applied to volunteer to start one in your local area yet; and we hope that we can very soon.
If there isn’t a group in your area yet, you can apply to volunteer to start one HERE.

The Leopard is the symbol of Aberdeen, Scotland where ADHD AF Podcast began in May 2022.
Leopards also symbolises bravery and the reclaiming of power - something so many of us late discovered ADHDers have to experience. Plus, the Host - AHDAF+ Charity Founder, Laura Mears-Reynolds ‘is a total hun’ so she always wore leopard print anyway! :)
ADHDAF Podcast launched the first ADHD AF Day in ADHD awareness month - Oct ‘22 encouraging listeners and followers to wear leopard print and post on social media that day with the hashtag #ADHDAFDay to raise ADHD awareness and to unite the ADHD Community in painting the internet leopard print. This has become a global annual online event on the penultimate Friday of Oct.
On her three ADHD Awareness raising podcast tours, Laura invited attendees to wear leopard print for fun, but also so that attendees would feel instantly connected. Noticing the print; many made friends on the journey there or spoke to each other outside before and after the events. The print became the ADHD AF Podcast listener ‘uniform’ uniting literally like-minded listeners…
