ADHD, Time Blindness,and Fundraisers

This month’s support groups will focus on the topic of Time Blindness, a common but often misunderstood challenge faced by many people with ADHD. Time blindness refers to the difficulty in sensing the passage of time, estimating how long tasks will take, or staying aware of appointments, tasks with deadlines.
This can lead to chronic lateness, procrastination, or feeling overwhelmed.

Some of us are also chronically early as a coping mechanism, and many of us lose hours in the bathroom! ;) In all seriousness, if you struggle with time and dates, it is not your fault and you are not alone.

In our free  September Peer Support Group sessions, we’ll explore how time blindness affects daily life, share strategies for managing it, and offer support from others who completely get it!
All attendees will also have access to our info download, as with all monthly sessions.

Update on the Fundraising Events in August

THE BIG ADHD FUNDRAISER took place on 1st-3rd August

 Enormous thanks to all who took part in the two incredible fundraisers of August! At the start of the month The Big ADHD Fundraiser.

Ayr to Wrexham The Big ADHD Fundraiser August 2025

THANKS to The BIG ADAHD Fundraiser founder Darren, and all his amazing cycling team:
Claire, Beth, Tracy, Micky, Jill, Steph, Katie, Ronny, Rose and Emily it was a monumental and very challenging challenge!

Our founder Laura went along to surprise the team and cheer them along for the last part of their incredible fundraiser. We could not be more grateful for what Darren informs us is currently sitting at £14305.34 raising not only for ADHDAF+ but, ADHDadultUK charity as well.

The legendary Darren isn’t done there - he is still cycling on solo to Brighton to try and hit £15K, and you can still donate here.
And you can find out more in The Big ADHD Fundraiser’s brand new website.

Blackpool Style Assembly fashion event - 17th August

All of us at ADHDAF+ Charity would also like to say a huge thank you to House Of Wingz for donating all of the ticket money from their second annual Blackpool Style Assembly fashion event to us!

The Blackpool Style Assembly is an immersive fashion and arts event. This event showcased sustainable and ethical fashion, alongside live music, dance, film, and art, creating a vibrant cultural celebration. Boycotting fast fashion and celebrating Neurodivergent Creatives;

All of the shows were incredible, but we particularly loved the last one of the night, ADHDAF Emporium raised ADHD awareness and brought the house down with a leopard print army invasion. Delivering hard hitting truths with ADHD articles causing alienation and Bingo balls serving hard hitting statistics, a truly unique way to to inform attendees of the dire state of the ADHD diagnosis crisis in the UK. We are so grateful for the donation of £992!
But that’s not all from Blackpool… a peer support group will be starting there very soon…

And, we have another group waiting in the wings, next month we are excited to bring ADHDAF+ to Cambridgeshire, more details asap.

If you are local to Ayr, Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, London, Manchester or Oxford;
we hope you will come along to one of our FREE in-person Peer Support Groups for ADHD adults of marginalised genders discussing Motivation in August….
