Volunteer to be an

ADHDAF+ Local Support Group Facilitator

Thanks for your interest in being a facilitator for one of our local ADHD Support Groups. This is a great opportunity to make a difference by offering support, guidance, and a safe space for sharing experiences.

The purpose of this role is to lead and guide group meetings for people of marginalised genders with ADHD, creating a welcoming and supportive environment.

What You'll Do

  • Host and run regular support group sessions.

  • Spread the word locally so more people can join in.

  • Make sure everyone feels comfortable sharing their thoughts.

  • Encourage participation and lead group activities.

  • Handle group dynamics and settle any disagreements calmly.

  • Share helpful resources and tips for managing ADHD.

  • Keep simple records like attendance and session notes.

What We're Looking For

  • Good communication and people skills.

  • An understanding of ADHD and empathy for its challenges.

  • Confidence in leading group discussions.

  • Experience running groups is a bonus, but not a must.

Time Commitment: Around 2-3 hours a month, including prep and session time.

Support Provided: Training, resources, and ongoing help to make sure you feel prepared.

The monthly groups are already off to a great start, but it is early days and so we’re letting them run for a bit to learn what works best, iron out any issues, and put together a guide to help our volunteer facilitators to make them a success.
